A Fall Palette, Reimagined

A Fall Palette, Reimagined

Three creators imagine our fall colors in their worlds.

This season, we’re bringing a fresh take on fall to the table. Far from the pumpkin spice latte, falling leaves autumn palette—our trio of colors for fall offers a new lens on the season’s shift. Guava, a juicy matte pink, meets Malachite and Sepia, a high gloss brown and green duo, to inspire our tables.

In the spirit of seeing things differently, we turned to three creators—each shaping beauty in their own fields—to explore how our fall colors weave into fashion, home and food. Meet Viv, Leonora, and Julia: three Substack writers interpreting our pink, brown and green palette into their universes.

Read on to find their Substacks and see our fall trio in new ways that surprise and delight.

The Molehill by Viv Chen

A woman stands in front of a pale green background in four different outfits overlayed with bowls holding foods in colors that match her outfits.

“When I was in my early 20s deciding where to buy my first real “adult” dinnerware set, the main reason I chose East Fork (aside from the durability) was the variety of color options. I’m not the kind of person who needs all their dinnerware to match…in fact, an all-white set of plates sounds really depressing, to be honest. So I bought two pink dinner plates and two lilac soup bowls (both old seasonal colors).

From there, my collection grew and I now have a rainbow of pots in my kitchen cabinet. While they’re functional objects I use daily, they’re also an unexpected source of styling inspiration!

I came up with four fall color combos inspired by East Fork’s newest colors. Consider it an exercise in farm to table (to closet).”

Schmatta by Leonora Epstein

A collage of interior spaces in a range of fall colors like browns, blues, rusts and greens, overlayed with mugs, bowls and a platter in green, brown and pink.

“When I think about autumn vibes, I also want to think about what makes sense for the rest of the year. Is there a color that feels particularly fall-y when paired with something else—that can then be moved to associate with a more warm-weather color? For me, this usually means that I prefer different sheet combinations in fall vs. spring and I also like to use my “earthier” stoneware vases in fall.

Fall is a very, very good time to do a refresh…on tableware—when you think about all the entertaining in the months to come. If you’re a Jewess like myself, you’ve got Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot, in addition to all the other winter holidays. Enter East Fork—an Asheville, NC-based tableware brand that’s a legitimately good company.”

Salad for President by Julia Sherman

An overhead shot of salad in brown and green bowls and a half a lemon on a green plate.

“For today’s recipe, Crispy Mustard Greens with Apple, Manchego + Sesame, I am working with some of my newest acquisition from Asheville based ceramics company, East Fork Pottery. Their serving pieces have an alchemical geometry—9 times out of 10, I reach for their Weeknight Serving Bowl to plate a large party salad, or their Everyday Bowl when plating pasta. Their shapes are supremely usable, and they don’t shy away from expressive color—this Fall, the palette is “malachite,” “sepia,” and “guava,” and I am working them in with the deep, moody colors of Fall produce.”
