Photographer Stephanie Buehler captures images that create instant nostalgia. Shooting on film gives her work a gentle sense of the past—the grain, the softness, the way the light subtly glows. There’s a familiarity to her images, a feeling that they could have come from a family photo album or a box of prints found in a drawer.

That sense of nostalgia paired naturally with this season’s colors, Malachite and Sepia. Malachite’s deep green calls back to banker's lamps, vintage glassware, and billiard felt, while Sepia carries the warmth of photographs scribbled with years and shiny leather armchairs.

We sent Stephanie some Malachite and Sepia pots and asked her to capture them on film at her home. The results remind us that the objects we use become part of our personal histories, and Malachite and Sepia fit seamlessly into that story: grounded, warm and full of the quiet pull of memory.

"I shot this series right in my backyard at my new home. I recently moved back to Florida, and being surrounded by so much lush, vibrant nature has been incredibly inspiring."

"My backyard, with its few scattered tree stumps and the way the light filters through the greenery, felt like the perfect setting. The colors Sepia and Malachite are such rich, earthy tones—I wanted to capture them in an environment that really echoed their natural warmth and depth." -Stephanie Buehler
